Eric Nelson, LMSW, CSW-Intern, CADC earned a bachelors degree in research psychology, with a minor in addictions treatment. He has experience being a drug and alcohol counselor since 2020 where he worked with individuals struggling with their sobriety at a local non-profit. He went on to earn a masters in social work and has experience from his practicum at the Reno VA Medical Center and local methadone clinic. Eric has worked with individuals with acute mental health symptoms and vulnerable populations within the Reno/Sparks area. He also worked with those who experienced trauma, loss and grief.
Eric advocates for his clients using Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
In his free time Eric likes to enjoy nature on the riverwalk and spending time with family.
