Our Eating Disorder Treatment Team
Intentionally Adaptive And Evidence-Based Treatment
Just as no two people are exactly the same, no group of program participants is alike either. Simply put, there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” approach to recovery.
At Thrive Wellness Reno, we thoughtfully tailor treatment to each client as a unique individual and intentionally adapt our programming to cater to group dynamics at any given time. Unlike other eating disorder treatment programs which have a set curriculum, our content and focus continually evolve to meet the needs and goals of our clients at all times.
Our experienced clinicians offer high-quality therapy rooted in evidence-based modalities and interventions such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). We believe in providing the right treatment at the right time for the right clients.
Effective Treatment Is Inclusive
The road to recovery from an eating disorder is not linear, which can be challenging for individuals and their loved ones. Many individuals suffering from eating disorders also struggle to find others who understand their experience and “speak the same language." This can also be true for their parents, partners, and others within one’s inner circle.
A primary benefit of group therapy and support groups is the ability to connect with and receive support from others with lived experience. Having a strong support system can significantly promote one’s progress on the path to healing and empower those around them as well. Therefore, we weave both group therapy and support groups into the fabric of our treatment approach. Learn more about our community offerings.
Additionally, carers are encouraged to be involved in their loved one’s treatment. Through family therapy and supported family meals, carers and other close family members are invited to deepen their own understanding and develop skills to support their loved ones.
Time Well Spent
At Thrive Wellness of Reno, we believe that the strength of treatment must be greater than the strength of the disorder. For many individuals this means that recovery is dose dependent on specialized treatment. The stronger the disorder, the higher the intensity and consistency of treatment is required to achieve a positive outcome. After an initial assessment, our experienced team members will prescribe the program and length of treatment that is right for you.
