Starting or expanding a family can involve an abundance of change, and adapting one’s life accordingly can be challenging. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are the most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting approximately 15 to 20 percent of birthing parents. Thrive Wellness is committed to supporting caregivers of all identities and backgrounds through their perinatal journey.
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) include a myriad of mental health conditions that can manifest, often for the first time in the perinatal period, as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and psychosis among others. These conditions can interfere with one’s everyday life, as well as the ability to care for oneself and baby with confidence.
For those struggling with their perinatal mental health, it is common to feel alone and hesitant to express symptoms and seek support due to stigma, fear of judgment, and feelings of shame and guilt. We understand the unique challenges that arise for those navigating pregnancy and parenthood. Our perinatal mental health specialists and interdisciplinary team of clinicians collaborate to provide comprehensive care with compassion.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our intentionally adaptive and evidence-based treatment recognizes each participant as a unique individual under our care, tailoring programming to meet both individual and group dynamics. We offer inclusive perinatal mental health care, supporting all identities and diverse experiences and applying a family systems approach to nurture the well-being of the entire family.

Thrive's “It Takes A Village” perinatal program supports parents during the perinatal period and is designed to cultivate connection, deep-rooted healing, and growth so that you and your family can flourish.
With an integrated care model, we empower clients to improve their overall health and embrace their roles as parents all while bonding with their babies. Our village is completely virtual and welcomes caregivers of all identities and backgrounds to join from the comfort of their own homes. Babies are welcome and encouraged to join!
PMADs: More than just the "baby blues".
The "baby blues" affect around 70-80% of parents after childbirth, resulting from hormonal changes and various stressors, with symptoms fading within a few weeks. In contrast, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), which impact 15-20% of parents, can emerge during pregnancy or up to a year postpartum and involve more severe and lasting mental health challenges. Symptoms of PMADs can range from persistent sadness and anxiety to psychosis, making it essential to seek help.
